fuck finnish music kicks arse

ok bunnies, i'm officially spellbound by this song: apocalyptica feat. ville valo and lauri ylönen - bittersweet

i can't stop listening to it. just so incredibly beautiful.

the song is a collaboration between three great finnish bands: apocalyptica is a band of three (what happened to the fourth? i thought there was four?) classically trained guys playing metal with cellos. ville valo is the singer of him and lauri ylönen the singer of the rasmus.

come on, give it a go. you know you want to...

Originally 4 guys, one of them left (allthough still plays with them live) cause it would harm his classical career.

one left for some other reason. Perttu replaced him (skinny guy with beard), then Mikko came in ~2 years ago to play drums.

now they are a group of 4 again, 3 Cello's & Drums + 1 cello when they play live.

Guys didnt like playing Cello upside down too much, cant do that for a long at once...

I've found some extremely gorgeous FInnish music lately. My faves are
Islaja, Parvoharju, Shogun Kunotoki, and ES. Can you recommend any others? I'd be keen for a listen.

ps. I watched all of Eurovision. It's bad. So bad. But so good. We made bad jokes and laughed the whole way through. But personally, I was hoping some good clean old fashioned cheesy pop would win - like Austria.

But back to Finland, did you find it scary when the lead singer's wings expanded...woah. Easy tiger.

not nearly as scary as croatia's singer's lips to be honest.

Or that wooden she-man from Turkey who looked like an ex-crim fresh outta jail with a sex change to celebrate.
